communicating via Blog

Relationship is very important to human beings. We need relationship in any where, relationship in between friends, classmates, families, and professors as well. We build our relationship by communicating to each other. Therefore, Communication is the most important one to anyone. By communicating via blog, I learn many things from my classmates. Communicating via blog is a good way to start and make friends. As we know many ones don't like to talk to others, but they do like to write something about themselves in the blog to express their feels, thinking and interesting in.
This is the first time I am using the blog. From the beginning I was not very like to do assignments from the blog. Therefore, I had to force myself to finish my assignments, and they are part of my final grades which I care the most. I don't think anyone in the class like to have bad grade instead doing the blog. However, I am happy to have my assignments done as soon as the professor post by online.
Also, by reading others' blog, I have learn much than from the text book. Everyone wrote about their own experiences being a manager or being managed. The blog is help me to learn from real life stories than whatever the books said so. The blog also encourage people to think. I would suggest professor to continue to use the blog as a component of this course.

The ABC's of DISC

Recently we had an activity in class to determine our management types by answering questions that Professor asked. I think the test accurately gauge my management orientation. I was belonging to the group of Conscientiousness, which we named it C. People belong to C is emphasis on working conscientiousness within existing circumstances to ensure quality and accuracy. The test truly stay out that I am a person who thinking analytically, weighing pros and cons in any situation. I am a person who being diplomatic with people. Also, I am a person who using a systematic approach to situations or activities. I don't wish to be another type of person beside C. And I think it is not easy to be another type of person because difference person is living in difference environment and background he/she has. I strongly support the idea of determine people's management "type". I think it is very helpful to understand ourselves and others. This test effectively help people in difference circumstances like our professor mentioned, dating, etc. Once I know the person's personality, it will easy for me to date.

The Power of Vision

As the professor said, Vision without action is just a dream, action without vision merely waste time. Therefore I don't waste any minute from my life. Every minute in my life I am taking action with vision. The first vision I have is to be a professional accountant after five years or even less than five years. Study accounting is my first and majority goal in my life. I start and take actions from one year ago for my first goal. I transferred from City College to Baruch which it offer greater opportunity for students. And Baruch has professional accounting professors which City college does not have these advances. City College does not have business majors as well. In Baruch College, accounting major is the most difficult major that most student said so. Some students changed their major after they took one or two accounting major courses. They think majoring accounting in Baruch is just kill students' themselves from graduation. However,I would put more efforts to study and hope I can graduate from Baruch within accounting major. Actually, graduating from Baruch is my second goal as well. My goal just like a stair way. If I fall in any step from beginning, I could not able to achieve my goal at all.
The third goal I have is I hope I can get a position in one of the biggest accounting firm in the United States. all my future goals are challenge to myself. I am making competition with myself, but not others. Actions I am taking today is studying in one of the greatest business college. I am taking accounting major courses for graduate required. Also, I am learning and gaining little accounting experience from my work which it relates to accounting. I am not only learning from whatever books say, I am learning from real life experiences too.

Decision Making

Accord to the decision making activity we had on 10/15/2007, I learned something new which making decision is not as easy as I thought. In order to make a good decision, first, we have to have a good leader who knows how to manage two didferent groups , agree and disagree. Secondarly, other members beside the leader have to respect the leader and themselves. This means we need to say out ourselves ideas and listen other ideas as well. Then, the leader who make a powerful and satisfy decision which everyone in the class agree with. All the points I mentioned above were not exist in the 10/15/2007 section of the MGT 3120 class.
Personally, I did not use any method to make decision on the 10/15/2007 section of the MGT 3120 class. The reason I did not use any method because there are many classmates gave out their own ideas where we may not be able to generalize them all in a short time of class period. And the class was so mess, just like fight a cold war. Therefore, I stayed silence and paid attention to the ideas they wrote on the blackboard. But I did disagree ideas which they are not satisfy to myself. In general class participation, I think we were using the collaborating method from the decision making debrief slides. We all focused on one goal which we want to get curve and extra credits to our first exam grade. I don't think there is any other way to handle the conflict beside the three points I mention earlier. If we are not respecting anyone, we never make any good final decision in the world.

An Eggs-cellent Way to Plan

Through the eggs cellent way to plan group work, I think the first step in the planning process is the most difficult step we tried to go through. Five people in the group had five different oponions, which it was hard to make a final decision. Since we made the final decision to make a boat shape egg cell to protect our egg, all my groupmates forcus on the final decision and gave different suggestions to make better protection for our egg. I think our group did a good job which everyone in the group tried hard to achieve this goal. Everyone build single relationship, that we all trust and respect each others. We believed groumates taking care of their responsibilties to do their best for our final decision. Everyone in the group provided optional suggests. And these suggests did effect and made our final group work to be better. During the process, everyone in the group helped each other in many ways. Someones cut straws, someones cut tape, someones fold straw around the egg. I think everyone really enjoy the whole wokring process.

Management problem I am facing

Time is representing money in this society. We must rush on something in any moment. If we want to achieve our goals, we have to know how to live and manage our time. Managing time is the most difficult issue I have currently. Most of my time I go to school, and I owrk in weekends as well. My classes start at 9:30 am to 9:20 pm; although there are gaps in between classes, but I really don't know how I may manage my time to study. Sometme I want to spend my short hour break to read my books; sometime I want to spend my break to do my homeworks. However, my mind could not pick any choice after I sat down in the library. It keeps asking myself , should I do this first, or do that first. Consequently, I did nothing ; I watsed my breaks for sat in library for nothing .
